Wretchedness: The initial hype surrounding the release of Portal 2 has managed to die down quite a lot recently, so what better time to pick up a copy and have a go. That’s exactly what we did.

W: Considering the amount of time since release you have no doubt read countless reviews for this game. We thought we would do something different, a joint review. Two reviewers for the price of one, proof that you can have your cake and eat it too. No Lie.

MechanicalR: Following the massive response Portal 1 got after being added as a content filler to Valves Half Life 2 juggernaut The Orange Box. Portal based puzzles took the gaming world by storm and with it, a new type of gamer was born.

M: Portals puzzles got everyone involved, family members and loved ones watching from the sofa as you rake your brains for the solution would chip in and throw in their two cents or just mock you for your poor observation skills. Valve took notice of this and decided to take Portal 2 one step further.

As well as that, the guys over at Valve made an incredibly big deal over what the content included for our fearless foursome, so lets go over each one by one shall we?

The quintet’s luck isnt getting any better…

With Left 4 Dead 2’s launch looming, thousands of angry L4Dians unhappy with the amount of content which was promised for the beloved zombie predecessor, here is our first new campaign for Left 4 Dead.

Now let’s not get too excited about this. Whilst the new campaign Crash Course, does fill in the gap between campaigns No Mercy and Death Toll, it’s not the full experience you may be expecting (paying) for.

Crash Course begins with your Helicopter from No Mercy in flames, new plan. Time to find your way across the bridge and to safety. Now, you would be expecting a fair amount of ‘chapters’ before you reach the epic finale. So when you find your first safehouse is your ONLY safehouse, you might be a little shocked.

Sadly, the new campaign is only two chapters long. Whilst being definitely longer it will take you less than 40 minutes in a full group on a harder difficulty. And whilst it lacks in the point of how long it is, it definitely doesn’t mean it’s a cakewalk.

Because the sections are longer, it gives you a fair chance to bump into more than just a couple of special infected, with a fair larger amount of your Smokers, Boomers and Hunters, you’ll also come across (if your unlucky) two Witches and a couple of tanks before you find solitude at the end of the mission.

The new level also features new voice overs to keep the fun side of their conversations fresh, keep an ear out for a certain comment about Steam!

The pack also comes with said campaign available in Versus and Survival modes and because its Premium content, you’ll also get a healthy amount of achievements to accompany your travels in the new level, which is a fair bit to keep you going till L4D2.

It’s a nice piece of DLC that to be perfectly honest, L4D fans could have done with a little bit sooner, whether there’s more on the way is yet to be seen, but for the price tag of 540 MS points it might justify itself as avoidable for those that aren’t as bigger fans and can wait for the second installment.
