If you owned an Original Xbox, chances are you may have had a go on a game called Mashed. This top down Micro Machine-esc game was simple in design and gameplay and unknowingly became a massive time void. Having missed this game when it came out for the Xbox (and the PS2), my trip to the retro corner of last year’s Eurogamer put me in perspective of the game. Along with 3 friends, we easily spent more time and had more fun on this game alone than the entire brand new games out there and it just so happens; they’ve finally decided to make a sequel.

Now, Gotham City Imposters is a tricky one. Personally, I find a game these days, especially as low key as this one, will never suffice with just an online basis. Games almost always need a Single Player just in case the multiplayer doesn’t do so well. Games like Monday Night Combat did this, and just about survived on its SP. Unless you’ve got a game like Team Fortress 2, or something special enough to rip the masses out of Activisions digestive tract for long enough, then you’re going to be looking at some disappointing stats after launch. But there’s something about Gotham City Imposters which I can’t quite put my finger on.

The last of the House Party arcade games brought us the eagerly awaited I Am Alive, formerly to be a full retail title, the games production suddenly took a turn and then it was decided to be just an Arcade game. A decision that has had its both good and bad effects, let’s take a look if I Am Alive is worth shouting about, or if it’s better off left dead.

I am genuinely sure that I’m probably alone in this statement but I am finding it hard to get excited for Mass Effect 3. No doubt the games are great and ME2 was a fantastic sequel but with Mass Effect 3 I just can’t seem to get overly excited.

Perhaps I don’t have the Mass Effect bug, or maybe it’s because I play a lot of other games in between which fails to keep the Effect fires burning, but for me, this demo was mainly to try and help kindle the embers and get me back in the mass mood.

Now, most readers will know that back at Eurogamer Expo 2011, Ace Combat Assault Horizon didn’t exactly leave a good taste in my mouth after. In honesty, the visuals didn’t look up to scratch and the game play itself didn’t seem to really mimic that of previous Ace Combat titles. So is there gold on the horizon? Or a flaming wreck of fighter jet bits?

The second of Gears of War 3’s downloadable content is upon us and oh boy is it a biggun. Sitting in at an exact 2GB, Raams Shadow brings new single player to our Gears of War desires.

Gears fans and sharp eyed readers may be confused as to why its labelled Raams Shadow, since this juggernaut tower block of a locust general died (albeit stubbornly) back at the climax of Gears 1, so what’s Raam got to do, got to do with it?
